Passionate trial lawyer, Dulzura has been practicing criminal law for over 14 years.
Dulzura was a public defender in Chihuahua, Mexico, for 6 years, representing adult and juvenile clients involved in all types of criminal matters. Prior to that, Dulzura clerked at the Chihuahua Superior Court and at the Chihuahua Juvenile Justice Specialized Court. She also worked for the Federal Court drafting opinions and decisions.
Right after graduating Law School from Universidad Panamericana, in 2010, Dulzura had gained practical experience representing private clients as counsel for defendants or victims in Guadalajara, Jalisco and its surrounding jurisdictions.
Dulzura holds two Master of Law degrees, one specialized in Criminal Law and the other in Constitutional Remedies Law. She also has conducted other graduate studies in criminal legal matters in Spain, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, the USA and Mexico. Additionally, Dulzura is in the process of finalizing her dissertation to earn her PH.D. in Criminal Law, as well as an additional master’s degree in legal reasoning from the University of Girona, in Spain.
Deeply understanding the accusatorial model, as very few lawyers do, Dulzura has coached teams and judged at mock trial competitions sponsored by the American Bar Association and other institutions. Also, Dulzura regularly teaches human rights, criminal law and trial advocacy courses in various private universities in Mexico.
Dulzura came back to Guadalajara in the summer of 2020 to found González-Villalobos & Ruiz, Asesores, as managing partner, where she offers her talent to represent clients in criminal matters, regardless of their location.
Dulzura, who is fluent in Spanish, English and French, is affiliated with the Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados, coordinating the Criminal Law Committee of the Jalisco chapter. She is a a disciplined sportswoman and an enthusiastic music fan.
